Terms and Conditions

Pricing:

All prices listed by Azore Surf are subject to availability and may change without prior notice in accordance with the policies of our partner surf schools and service providers. Prices are generally quoted in local currency and may fluctuate due to exchange rate changes until full payment is received. A deposit is required to secure any booking. Payment of this deposit indicates your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Full payment is typically required no later than 90 days before the scheduled lesson, event, or service date, unless otherwise specified by individual providers. For bookings made within 90 days of service, full payment will be required immediately. Certain promotional packages or airfares may require instant full payment.

Cancellations:

All deposits paid to Azore Surf are non-refundable. However, in some cases, they may be transferable as credit for future bookings (subject to the policies of the respective service provider). Cancellations made within 90 days of the scheduled activity may be non-refundable, depending on the cancellation policy of the surf school or service provider involved. It is strongly recommended that clients obtain travel insurance that covers unexpected situations like illness, accidents, or travel disruptions. If refunds are possible, Azore Surf can only process them once funds have been returned from the relevant provider. Refunds from airlines or other travel suppliers may take up to 12 weeks to process. Fees will also apply for any booking changes, reissues, or amendments.

Travel Insurance:

Azore Surf highly recommends that all clients secure comprehensive travel insurance. Some of our partner providers require proof of insurance before accepting bookings. It is your responsibility to arrange appropriate coverage for accidents, cancellations, injuries, or any other unforeseen events.

Taxes and Surcharges:

Certain local or international taxes may apply to your booking. Taxes are subject to change without notice and may vary depending on government regulations, exchange rates, or airline policies. Final confirmation of applicable taxes will be provided at the time of full payment or ticket issue.

Health and Safety:

You are responsible for ensuring you meet all health requirements for your destination, including vaccinations or medical documentation if needed. Azore Surf strongly encourages clients to consult a physician regarding any health risks associated with travel to the Azores or any other location involved in your booking.

Passports & Visas:

For any travel services arranged through Azore Surf, it is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure all passports, visas, and travel documents meet entry and exit requirements for each destination. Any fines, penalties, or additional costs incurred due to non-compliance with immigration regulations will be at your own expense. Most countries require at least 6 months passport validity from your intended arrival date. If you need assistance with visa information, we can help provide guidance via third-party visa advisory services, but Azore Surf is not responsible for the accuracy of such information.

Agency Role:

Azore Surf (Atividade Individual CAIO COSTA MENDES) operates as a booking agent. We act on your behalf to coordinate services offered by third-party providers, including but not limited to surf schools, transport companies, and accommodation providers. Azore Surf does not own or operate these services and is not responsible for their performance, quality, or delivery. Your booking is subject to the terms and conditions of each individual provider. If a supplier fails to deliver services, your legal recourse is with that supplier, not Azore Surf.

Duty of Care:

At Azore Surf, we leverage personal experience and a strong local network to carefully select the providers we work with. Our goal is to connect you with quality surf schools and experiences. While we make every effort to recommend trusted operators, we cannot guarantee that unexpected issues won’t arise. As an independent booking agent, we do not accept liability for any operational failures by third parties. However, we do commit to advocating on your behalf in the event of any disputes or issues with a service provider.

Liability:

Azore Surf accepts no liability for loss, damage, injury, delay, additional expenses, or any other unforeseen circumstances caused by third-party service providers or external factors beyond our control (such as weather, ocean conditions, or government actions). In cases where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the total value of the services booked through Azore Surf.

Credit Card Transactions:

Payments made by credit card may incur a surcharge. Current rates are: Visa/MasterCard – 1.8%; American Express – 3%. Should a supplier fail to deliver booked services, your financial remedy lies with the supplier, not with Azore Surf. We will, however, assist in recovering applicable refunds where possible.

Privacy Policy:

Azore Surf values your privacy and will not share your personal information with any third party without your consent, unless required for processing your booking with service providers or for legal compliance.

Travel Advice:

For the most current travel advisories and safety information, we recommend visiting your government’s official travel advice website. For example, travelers from Portugal can check with Portal das Comunidades Portuguesas, and travelers from other countries should refer to their respective foreign affairs departments.
